I want to make you aware of some changes that have occurred at Carbonate. First, in our housekeeping department Alexis Wilkens has resigned to be able to spend more time with her new baby that was born last December. Replacing her is Dee Lopez who comes to us with a lot of experience. She was formerly the executive housekeeper at Poste Montane in Beaver Creek and the executive housekeeper at Eagle Point in Vail. Early on in her work history she worked at Copper Mountain in their housekeeping department, so she is already somewhat familiar with our village. Bryan Tuley who has been our resident manager at Summit House East is now working as an inspector, stocker and maintenance. We welcome these individuals and look forward to improving our product with their arrival.
We have experienced excellent weather and outside projects are certainly benefiting from this.
The replacement of the center village lifts is moving along nicely. We have interacted with the Linter Poma personnel (builders of the lifts) and they indicate things are moving along.
In late June the Resort Chamber Board will have it’s annual meeting with representatives from Summit County. Interacting with the County and conveying the needs at Copper that the County can possibly fulfill is the objective of this annual gathering. The Resort Chamber is completing the lighting project that started two years ago on Copper Road. This summer’s lighting project includes Ten Mile Circle, the completion of Copper Road and Copper Circle.
At the Metropolitan District, since there were only two candidates to fill the two vacancies the election was cancelled. The two new board members are Jim Reis, filling the two year term and Stan Sprinkle filling the four year term. Both have been Copper owners for many years.
As a reminder, please make your future reservations, especially around the Labor Day Weekend.
Our summer activities started yesterday with the opening of the golf course, re-opening of shops and restaurants, and all village activities. Summers seem to fly by and Labor Day will be here before we know it.
Real estate activity remains strong. If you have any questions regarding value of your property please contact us.
Thank you for working with Carbonate. Our staff appreciates your confidence and support.
