February Owners Letter

Dear Owner:

January was an incredible month of snowfall.  It seems like the first three weeks created a powder day, every day!   The monthly total was about 82 inches.  Average = 50 inches.  Skiing is great as we enter February.

The real estate market continues to be very active.   We closed two homes in the Masters

neighborhood on Monday, the 6th of February plus 13 other properties have sold with 21 more under contract.   We are selling things that are not formally on the market for sale.   If you have any thoughts about selling please let us know.  We have buyers seeking things.

At the February 9 meeting of the Ten Mile Planning Commission two important projects were reviewed.  The first was expansion of well house #2 in the east village.   This project is required to tie the well that was drilled in Farley Park last fall to the Copper Mountain water system.   An enlarged structure is required to house this new connection.   A significant excavation will be required to go from the well to the well house.  A good portion of Wheeler Circle (east side of Copper Springs Lodge) will be impacted during the early summer to accommodate this installation.   The second project, the mountain

coaster, is planned to be installed this summer to the west of the American Flyer lift.   This above ground coaster will weave through the trees terminating just to the west of the American Flyer base area.  Both projects were approved by the planning commission.   The Lodge at Copper Condominiums (closest building to the base of the mountain coaster) expressed concerns about the impact that this installation will have on their complex.

If you are considering modifications to your property this spring it is not too early to start the planning process.  Contractors are already filling their schedules.   Cindy will be contacting many of you this spring regarding mattresses.  We have had several guests’ comment regarding bed comfort and this will certainly be a focus of our annual evaluation and recommendations.

For those wanting to use your property this summer please book you time.   We are already receiving reservations for the summer of 2017.  The Copper Mountain Resort Association has provided us with a tentative summer schedule and we anticipate strong summer activity.

Copper has been the host location of the NorAm Championships that have been on-going for the past 10 days.  It is very exciting to watch these future and current US Ski Team athletes.
