The monsoon season hit and it has really been wet the past couple of weeks. The resulting green grass is wonderful and the village is really looking great! With the exception of on-going projects which are weather dependent, we have welcomed the moisture. Especially after the fire that occurred over the ridge near Breckenridge, our fire fighters are appreciative of the rain.
As we prepare for Labor Day and the Homeowner Weekend festivities, a lot is happening at Copper. The mountain coaster continues to be assembled, Kokomo lift replacement is underway, the water/well connection project continues in the East Village, new street lights are being installed in the East Village and many condominium projects are conducting renovations and replacements at their buildings. In addition to the replacement of the Kokomo lift, plans are being implemented to construct a restaurant at the top of that lift.
The resort has been very busy on weekends with the events that the Resort Chamber has hosted as well as the continuation of events such as the Courage Classic and the Copper Triangle bicycle rides. As an owner recently commented, the village has never been this busy during the summer.
Our real estate market continues to be very active. A recent transaction of a one bedroom unit in Foxpine Inn sold for more than asking price and lasted for one day on the market. The lower end of pricing dominates. While there are some great buys, in my opinion, above the $900,000 range activity has been moderate. We expect that will change as we enter the fall months. So, if you are thinking about buying or selling, activity is strong. Contact us today.
Don’t miss the annual Copper Mountain Metropolitan District owner appreciation dinner that will be held August 31, 2017 from 5 PM to 8 PM. This is held at the Metropolitan District Complex/Fire
House and is always a very popular event, kicking off the weekend. The Copper Mountain Fire Department hosts the annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday morning at Jack’s from 7 AM to 8:30 AM.
This is a great fund raiser and an excellent way to prepare for the State of the Resort that follows. We have been told that a salute to Chuck Lewis, the first president of Copper Mountain and recent inductee into the National Ski Hall of Fame, will occur at the State of the Resort.
See you soon.
