April Owner Letter

Dear Owner:

As usual, we received a large amount of snowfall last evening just a week prior to closing weekend.  The amount of snow we seem to receive every spring certainly will help our water content for the months ahead.  Almost everyone is expressing concern of dry conditions for the upcoming summer.

According to the snow report Copper received 14 inches of new snow Friday night.

The summer of 2018 is shaping up to be a busy one.  Copper is planning replacement of the two lifts at center village (American Eagle and American Flyer), construction is planned for the center parking lot (immediately to the east of the Metro Building), Copper hopes to get approval from Summit County to start on the affordable housing/rental unit project at the entrance to the resort and many of the condominium buildings will be carrying out projects at their individual locations.   While the summer lift ride up the mountain, that attracts many visitors, will not operate this year due to lift replacement, Copper will be open and operating for summer visitors.

On the reservation front, Cindy is receiving a lot of calls for summer reservations.  The usual weekends of bike events are already starting to fill up.   Thus, if you plan any personal usage for your unit this summer, please book the time immediately.

The Metro District is looking forward to the results of the survey that was co-sponsored by the Metro District and Copper Mountain Resort.   We hope that you submitted your survey form to express what items are important to you.  Elimination of the play field in the Alpine Lot will occur due to the affordable housing project.  It is important that the Metro District works with Copper to replace this important amenity with item(s) the resort owners desire.

Real estate activity continues to be strong with few listings and a lot of demand.

The Resort Chamber will be finishing the street lighting project this summer with plans to complete Copper Road and Ten Mile Circle.  A majority of the Resort Chamber board supported a loan from the Village Company reserves to the Resort Chamber to allow this project to move forward.

As another winter season comes to an end, we thank you for allowing Carbonate to work with and for you.  We appreciate your business.
